Ingredients

  • 4 pineapple rings sliced and save juice
  • 2 cups bbq sauce half set aside for basting & half for burger mixture (this is for the hawaiian BBQ sauce recipe listed below)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 4 romaine lettuce leaves
  • 4 Brioche buns
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 bacon strips cooked and broken in half

Hawaiian BBQ sauce ingredients:

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger

Instructions

  • Drain pineapple juice into a small bowl. Make sure to set the pineapple slice aside. Mix the juice with the BBQ sauce, and add in the soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic powder, and ground ginger until combined well.
  • Put the ground beef in a bowl and add 1 cup of the sauce that you just made. Use your hands to combine the mixture. Make the mixture into four patties.
  • Put the burgers onto the hot BBQ grill and then add some extra sauce on top with a brush.
  • Grill the burgers over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes. Flip and add sauce. Close the grill lid and cook for another 6-8 minutes. The internal temperature should be 160 degrees to be considered done.
  • Add the melted butter to the bun and put the buns on the grill. Put the sliced pineapples on the grill as well.
  • Put the cheese on top of the burger and let it melt.
  • Remove from the grill and assemble the burgers. The best order is to have the bun on the bottom, followed by lettuce, slice of tomato, burger, crispy bacon, grilled pineapple, and then the top of the bun.

Notes

Storage: To store leftover cooked burgers, place them in an airtight container and keep them in the fridge. They will stay good for 2-3 days. You can also add cooked burgers to the freezer.
