Baking Sheet
Pizza Cutter
Mixing Bowl
- 14 oz Lit'l Smokies drained and patted dry
- 1 can crescent rolls
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- 4 strips bacon cooked and crumbled
- 4.5 oz can green chilies drained
- 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Preheat the oven to 350°F, then spray a 9 x 13-inch baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
Then, remove the crescent rolls from the package and separate the triangles. Using a pizza cutter, cut each one in half lengthwise, then cut in half again, horizontally. You should have 4 pieces from every triangle and 32 pieces total. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, then add the bacon, green chilies, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
Divide the cream cheese mixture evenly between the crescent roll pieces, spreading a thin layer on each one.
Then, place a Lit’l Smokie on the widest end of each piece of dough. Roll it up.
Place the pigs in a blanket on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
- Jalapeno Popper Pigs in a Blanket are a great recipe to whip when feeding a group!
- You can substitute jalapenos for canned green chilies. When using fresh jalapenos, the taste and texture are different, and the dish is spicier.
- You can prepare these up to 2 days before baking them. Once prepared, cover them in plastic wrap and refrigerate until it’s time to bake them.
