Homemade Bubbles

Prep Time5 minutes
Course: Bubbles

Equipment

  • Large Pitcher
  • Large Mixing Spoon
  • Bubble Toys

Ingredients

  • 8 cups Water warm
  • 1 cup Sugar granulated
  • 1 cup Dishwasher Soap Dawn

Instructions

  • Start by heating your 8 cups of water until it's warm but not boiling. This can be done on the stove or in a microwave. Just be careful not to make the water too hot, as this can cause the soap to bubble up too much when it's added. It just needs to be warm enough to dissolve the sugar.
  • Once your water is warmed, add 1 cup of white sugar. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved. The sugar will help to make your bubbles stronger and last longer.
  • Once the sugar is fully dissolved, slowly add the 1 cup of Dawn soap. Stir the mixture slowly and gently to avoid creating too many bubbles or foam in the process.
  • Allow your homemade bubble solution to cool to room temperature. Once your bubble solution has rested, it's ready to use! Dip your bubble wand or tool of choice into the solution and gently blow to create your bubbles.
  • The bubble solution is best after it has been allowed to sit for a few hours or overnight (but can be used right away). This allows the ingredients to fully mix and will help to create stronger, longer-lasting bubbles.

Notes

Please note: Always supervise children while they're using the homemade bubble solution, especially if they're young. Although the ingredients are non-toxic, the solution should not be ingested. Also, be aware that the soap and sugar can make surfaces slippery.
