- 2 tablespoons butter softened
- ½ cup butter melted
- 1 ¼ cup sugar divided
- 1 cup Self Rising Flour
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 cups Blackberries fresh and in season
First, butter your casserole dish with softened butter, covering the bottom and sides evenly and preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Next, melt one stick of butter in a microwave safe dish and set aside.
In a large bowl whisk together 1 cup of flour and 1 cup sugar until combined. Next, add your melted butter and mix together until incorporated.
Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish then sprinkle the blackberries evenly over the batter. Add ¼ cup of sugar overtop of the berries and bake for 1 hour or until golden and cooked through.
