HOW TO MAKE AIR FRY CINNAMON ROLLS

Step 1: Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick spray. You can also use parchment paper as well.

Step 2: Separate the dough and add it to the basket, leaving some space in between each one. (Also, make sure that you’re putting them in a single layer – no stacking!)

Step 3: Cook in the air fryer for 6 minutes at 360 degrees. Once that time has passed, flip the rolls and cook for another 3-5 minutes. (This is done so that the tops of the cinnamon rolls don’t burn.)

Step 4: Remove the rolls from the air fryer and top with the icing that came with the dough. These are literally such an easy air fryer cinnamon rolls recipe!

HELPFUL TIPS & TRICKS

  • Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls are larger in size than some of the other options at the store. This is why you want to be sure to give them space in the air fryer and also flip them.
  • For nonstick purposes, I prefer using a cooking spray for this recipe because it’s fast and simple. Parchment paper works fine, too but I like to save it for other recipes if possible.

SUBSTITUTIONS AND VARIATIONS

  • Use a homemade glaze – You can use the glaze that comes with the cinnamon roll tube or make your own. I little bit of milk and powdered sugar whisked together and drizzled over the top is a breeze!
  • Top with frosting – If you REALLY want to make these cinnamon rolls taste like a dessert, you can use canned frosting, too. Just be sure that you let them cool down all the way before adding frosting otherwise it will melt and slide right off.
  • Add toppings! Drizzled honey, adding maple syrup, topping with powdered sugar, or using cream cheese frosting are all options that you can add to change up the flavor. Chopped pecans on top would be good, too! (If you’re feeling extra crazy – add some crumbled-up bacon on top. The sweet and salty combination is out of this world!)
  • Keep it simple – A little bit of melted butter and brown sugar taste super yummy on top, too! This is a great option to add just a hint of sweetness to the top of these large cinnamon rolls.

STORAGE NOTES

I highly recommend that you eat these baked cinnamon rolls fresh, but if you have any leftovers, place them in an airtight container or wrap them well (with plastic wrap or aluminum foil) and keep them at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the fridge for up to 1 week.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to preheat the air fryer before cooking up these cinnamon rolls?

Nope, no preheating is necessary. (I told you this air fryer cinnamon rolls Pillsbury recipe was awesome, right?)

Can I use different brands of cinnamon rolls?

You can, but just be prepared that you might need to adjust the cooking time. You can buy different sizes of sweet rolls at the grocery store, so make sure that you pay close attention the first time you make a different brand.

Can I use the smaller cinnamon rolls that have 8 in the can?

Yes! You absolutely can as long as they fit in your size air fryer. Just cook them for 6 minutes. Since they are much smaller, they will cook faster. No need to flip!

How do I know my cinnamon rolls are fully cooked?

I totally get it. The easiest way to know they are done is to see golden brown on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Fresh cinnamon rolls cooked to perfection are like heaven in your mouth.

Can I squish the cinnamon rolls in the air fryer basket to cook more quickly?

I don’t recommend it. Cooking cinnamon rolls in the airfryer need space in between so that the hot air circulates. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you might be able to fit in a few more, but don’t overcrowd.

How do I reheat these delicious cinnamon rolls?

The easy way to reheat these leftover cinnamon rolls is in the microwave for about 30 seconds. If frozen, allow coming to room temperature first (for best texture). And if you have not already used it up, don’t forget to spread icing on your warm cinnamon roll.

Can I freeze cooked cinnamon rolls?

You should wrap individual rolls for freezing, in which case they will last up to 2 months.
