It’s not secret that charcuterie boards are all the rage right now! My mom just said the other day, “We have been making fruit, cheese and meat platters forever…these ain’t new”…haha. She’s not wrong but I’ve never seen one quite like this! My sweet friend, Ashley, was just telling me all her fun ideas the other day for holiday food based on The Elf movie and this idea just popped into my head so I went for it!

And if you love cutesy, easy, festive treats like these, you will love my Christmas Tree Charcuterie Board and Strawberry Santas!

How to Make Strawberry Santas

STEP 1: Rinse your Broccoli, Cucumbers and Red Bell Pepper. Make sure to pat Dry

STEP 2: Cut the stems off all the Broccoli to make florets. Make sure to cut them close to the base so they will sit flat on the board. Set aside

STEP 3: Cut the Cumbers. Slice them about a 1/4 of an inch wide and try to keep them a consistent width. Then cut the round slices in half and set aside.

STEP 4: Cut your Bell Peppers. Cut the top off the bell pepper and remove the seeds and membrane. Then slice them horizontally from top to bottom about 1/4 of an inch wide. Set these aside.

STEP 5: Assemble your Charcuterie Board. You want it to end up looking like Buddy the Elf’s hat so we are going to start with the base then create a triangle shape!

STEP 6: Broccoli. Start at the base of the board and lay our your florets about 3 inches wide.

STEP 7: Cheese Cubes. Place about 3 rows of cheese cubes above the broccoli (building towards the top of the board) then stack three rows on top of the bottom layers of cheese.

STEP 8: Cucumbers. This part can be a little tedious so be patient. Turn your cut cucumber slices to where the peel is face up and layer them in a triangular pattern until you come to a point. I recommend starting with larger slices of the cucumber and ending with the smallest ones

STEP 9: Red Bell Pepper. Once the hat is mostly assembled, you will finish with Buddy’s signature red feather. Just place the slices in a feather pattern on the cheese! Use the curved pieces of the bell pepper to help you make the shape!

STEP 10: Finishing Touches. Now that your hat is finished you can fill in the rest of the charcuterie board! Add a small bowl of ranch (or your favorite vegetable dip) for dipping. Then fill in with some of your favorite Christmas snacks! I recommend things like: popcorn, carrots, cookies, pretzels, marshmallows, fruit, candy canes, Christmas Candy…whatever you like, they sky’s the limit!

STEP 11: Serve at your next holiday party!

Storage

This board is very versatile! You can use your favorite fruits and veggies…I just recommend choosing sturdy ones that you can assemble easily. If you want to make this board ahead of time, just wait to add additional candies, cookies and snack foods until you get ready to serve. You can add all the fruits and veggies to your board and make it in advance, just wrap it tightly in plastic wrap up to 1 day before you plan to serve it.
