🦃 What is Roll a Turkey?
Roll a Turkey is a simple, printable game that’s easy to set up and fun to play. The game’s objective is to be the first to fill your turkey feathers first! Complete a turkey by rolling dice and adding colorful M&Ms to the corresponding dice color!
🎲 How to Play
✂️ Materials Needed:
- A “Roll a Turkey” game sheet for each player (download & print below)
- A die
- A big Bag of regular M&Ms (green, yellow, red, blue, brown, orange)
- Crayons, Markers or Coloring pencils (optional)
🧩 Game Setup:
- Print the Game Sheets: First, print out a Turkey game sheet for each player. Our printable is a half sheet so there are two turkey sheets per piece of paper! (12 variations total – so 12 players can play with our sheets at max). Cut each game card in half.
- Distribute the Materials: Give each player a game sheet, a bowl of M&Ms and crayons, coloring pencils or markers.
📏 Game Rules:
- Decorate your Turkey: This step is optional but if you have a whole classroom or group of little ones, they can first color in their turkey for some added fun! (And teachers, let’s face it…to run out the clock a bit, haha!)
- Roll the Die: One person (a teacher, parent or even player) rolls the die and calls out the number. The number they roll corresponds to a specific color dot on the turkey feathers on their sheet.
- Add to Your Turkey: The objective of the game is fill your turkey feathers first! Each player will place one M&M on the corresponding color dot. (Think Bingo, the Caller rolls the day and, for example, calls out 5…each player will look at the number 5 and see it corresponds with the color brown so they place a brown M&M on a brown dot on their turkey. And so on and so forth until the first person fills their entire turkey!)
- First to Complete Wins: The first player to fill in all their turkey, wins! (Think Bingo, the Caller rolls the day and, for example, calls out 5…each player will look at the number 5 and see it corresponds with the color brown so they place a brown M&M on a brown dot on their turkey. And so on and so forth until the first person fills their entire turkey!)
- Enjoy the Treats: Once the game is over, players can enjoy their M&Ms as a sweet reward for their efforts!
🤗 Variations for More Fun
- Team Play: Make it a team effort! Teams work together to complete their turkey, strategizing on who rolls when and how to best use their M&Ms.
- Educational Twist: For younger players, use the game to teach numbers, colors, or even basic addition.
