HOW TO MAKE SNICKERS APPLE SALAD
- First, place the Snickers Bars in the fridge to cool and harden a bit so they are easier to chop later.
- Next, pour your milk into a large bowl and add the instant vanilla pudding. Whisk together until smooth, the pudding will set up and thicken once combined.
- Add half (8 ounces) of cool whip to the bowl and fold together with pudding. Once it’s mostly combined, add the remaining cool whip and fold in. Make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl so that all the ingredients are evenly incorporated. Set aside, preferably in the refrigerator while you cut up the other ingredients.
- Now core and chop up the apples into small bite size pieces (Toss with lemon juice to keep the apples from browning). Set aside
- Remove the Snickers bars from the refrigerator and chop each bar into small bite size pieces as well.
- Add the chopped apples and Snickers bars (reserving about a half cup of each for garnish) to the cool whip mixture and fold together until evenly incorporated.
- Drizzle the top of the salad with caramel sauce and sprinkle on the reserved apple and snickers pieces and serve.
- *If you are preparing the apple salad ahead of time make sure to wait to add the toppings until right before serving. I recommend you offer caramel drizzle to each person as you serve!
STORAGE AND REHEATING NOTES:
Store the Snickers apple salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Ideally, the salad should be eaten within 2-3 days due to the freshness of the apples and other ingredients.
The apples may start to brown and soften, and the Snickers may start to soften as well, which can change the texture of the salad.
HELPFUL TIPS & SUBSTITUTIONS:
What Other Variations Can I Try?
You can change things up and bring in lots of variations to this recipe. Add in other fruits like bananas and strawberries or use another candy bar like Milky Way or Twix. You can also use any other flavor of pudding mix if you want to.
What Kind of Apples Can I Use?
While you can use almost any kind of apples you can get your hands on, I would recommend using tart apples like Melrose and Granny Smith or even Jazz apples as opposed to sweeter apples, since the tart flavor can really complement the sweetness of the other ingredients.
Can I Make the Snickers Apple Salad in Advance?
You can make this Snickers apple salad up to a day in advance. To keep the apples from browning, you may want to coat them in a bit of lemon juice.
