HOW TO MAKE GOOEY SNICKERS BROWNIES

I’m not joking when I say that this recipe for Snickers brownies is going to change your life – for the better.

Step 1: Make the brownie mix as it’s written on the side of the box and preheat the oven according to the directions.

Step 2: Grab a 9X9 baking pan and spray it will non-stick spray. You can also use parchment paper to help with keeping the chocolate brownie batter from sticking to the sides.

Step 3: Pour 1/2 of the brownie batter into the pan. Tap the pan a little bit to level it out.

Step 4: Cut up the Snickers into 1/2 inch bites and pieces.

Step 5: Put the pan in the oven and bake for 6 minutes.

Step 6: While the brownie batter is baking in the oven, put the heavy cream and caramels into a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 25-second intervals. Stir each time the timer goes off and the mixture is fully melted. Don’t overheat!

Step 7: Sprinkle the chopped snickers over the semi-baked brownie layer.

Step 8: Then take melted caramel mixture and drizzle over the top of the snickers pieces.

Step 10: Pour the remaining brownie batter on top. It will be a thick mixture so spoon all over the top so that it’s easier to spread. (I recommend using an offset spatula).

Step 10: Bake the brownies for the remaining time that is listed on the box. Once that time is up, check and see if the brownies are baked and ready to be pulled from the oven.

Step 11: Let the brownies cool in the pan before cutting. This will help them to cut easier as well.

HELPFUL TIPS & TRICKS

  • Wondering if you really need to add in the heavy cream? Yes, the answer is yes!

The cream mixed with the caramel is what keeps the caramel sauce from hardening when it cools.

If you don’t add the cream, the caramel will become hard, and you’ll go from a chewy brownie to a rock hard brownie – and no one wants that!
  • To keep the brownie batter from sticking to the baking dish, use parchment paper.

Non stick spray is fine, but I’ve found that the best results are when I’ve lined the pan with parchment paper.

If you leave a little bit hanging over the edges, you can literally lift the whole pan of these decadent brownies out at once to make cutting a breeze.

SUBSTITUTIONS AND VARIATIONS

  • Toss in some espresso powder – Doesn’t have to be a lot, but it does give these Snicker bar brownies a fun flavor.
  • Looking for some crunch? Add a few extra unsalted peanuts. Extra peanuts are always yummy!
  • Use mini snickers – Don’t have full sizes of Snickers? The mini ones will work just fine. Your sweet tooth won’t be able to tell the difference!

STORAGE NOTES

These Snickers brownies with brownie mix need to be stored in an airtight container.

If you store these fudgy Snickers brownies at room temperature, they’ll last for about 3 days.

If you store them in the fridge, they’ll last up to a week.

My favorite way to store leftovers from this recipe for Snickers brownies is to put a few in the freezer for later. They’ll last for up to 3 months, and it’s like my own hidden stash!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I use other candy bars for these delicious brownies?

You bet! You can use Kit Kat candy bars, Almond Joy, or anything that you’d like. Have fun and be creative! You can literally combine the ultimate combination of brownies and candy bars and create a crazy good flavor. I totally think that making peanut butter Snickers brownies is a great combo to try as well!

Can I premake these brownies?

Absolutely. I love to whip up this candy bar brownie dessert and then chill it overnight in the fridge. I also find that the brownies cut easier that way, too which is something I’m all about!

How do you know when brownies are done baking?

You’ll want to use a visual for this. The top of the chewy Snickers brownies should look shiny, and the edges should be pulled away slightly from the pan. You can also give the baking pan a little jiggle as the middle should be set but still have a slight movement to it.
